HTC Edge Quad Core Tegra 3 Android smartphone leaked

HTC Edge Quad Core Tegra 3 Android smartphone leaked. The picture you’re looking at is reportedly an unannounced HTC device called the ‘Edge’, which is the company’s first, and most probably the world’s first smartphone powered by a quad-core processor.

The folk over at PocketNow have inside information from what they say is a reliable source, who says that the new Edge handset is the next level in premium smartphones.

It’s reported that the device will have a 4.7-inch screen and will be slightly over 10mm thick, and will quite possibly be the successor to the recently announced HTC Rezound/Vigor handset. The rumoured spec of the Edge is for the most part very similar, if not the same, therefore it’s expected that the device will have the same 720p screen resolution, 1GB of RAM an 8MP camera with an f/2.2 lens.

The difference will lay with the Edge’s supposed AP30 Tegra 3 CPU from Nvidia. This will offer four 1.5 GHz cores to the Rezound’s two cores. It’s also thought that internal storage will be bumped up to 32GB, while Bluetooth will reach version 4.0. The new Beats Audio enhancement will also most likely be feature as well.

Although there seems to be a fair amount of info regarding the hardware, no information has been obtained to suggest what version of Android it will be running; Ice Cream Sandwich? Maybe, although it’s thought that the device will be shipped with Gingerbread while offering an upgrade to the next version of Android shortly after.

Rumour land is expecting the HTC Edge to arrive sometime in Q1 or early Q2 of next year; we’ll keep you posted if you get any more info.
